The International Symposium on Hazards, Prevention and Mitigation of Industrial Explosions (ISHPMIE) is an international symposium on the causes, modeling, prevention, and mitigation of industrial explosions. At the 16th edition, held in April 2026, in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, the Best Paper Award was conferred on Aleksandra Semenova, MSc, and Priv.-Doz. Dipl.-Ing. Dr. mont. Christoph Spijker of the Chair of Thermal Process Technology from the technical University of Leoben for their paper βInterpreting Measurements of Iron Dust Explosions in a 20-L Sphere: Insights from Mass and Heat Balance Analysis.β
The ISHPMIE Best Paper Award recognizes the conferenceβs most outstanding, innovative, and practice-relevant contribution to safety and is granted on the basis of a peer-review process by an international scientific committee.
