RINA CSM

RINA-CSM (RINA Consulting – Centro Sviluppo Materiali) is a research company founded in 1963 by Italy’s major steel manufacturers and end-users, now part of RINA Group, a global provider of classification, certification, testing, inspection and training services. With about 260 researchers, 20 laboratories, pilot lines and full-scale testing facilities, it plays a key role in projects where materials, technology and innovation are crucial.

Role in the project

Within Safe H-DRI, RINA-CSM leads the Dissemination and Communication activities and contributes to the experimental activities on the passivation and reactivity of hydrogen-based DRI (H-DRI), supporting the project’s goal of enabling a safe and sustainable transition towards hydrogen-based steelmaking.

The consortium of the Safe H-DRI project consists of 20 partners including steel producers, plant supplier, logistics providers, RTOs, and universities from Austria, Germany, Netherlands, Beglium, France, Spain and Italy. All of them have outstanding know-how in ironmaking and bulk solid transportation.
