Role in the project

ArcelorMittal R&D Spain will be involved in:

  • Study of the reoxidation phenomena of H2 produced DRI
  • Utilization of coatings to prevent the reoxidation and dust emission of H2 DRI
  • Characterization of the H2 DRI produced material

Team

Francisco Herrera will be involved in the coating evaluation and characterization of the material and Gerardo Quiroga will participate in the preliminary evaluation of potential dust emissions abatement via the use of the coating materials.

The consortium of the Safe H-DRI project consists of 20 partners including steel producers, plant supplier, logistics providers, RTOs, and universities from Austria, Germany, Netherlands, Beglium, France, Spain and Italy. All of them have outstanding know-how in ironmaking and bulk solid transportation.
