Acciaierie d’Italia (ADI) is Italy’s leading steel producer and one of the largest full-cycle plants in Europe. Its facilities span over 17 million square meters and employ more than 10,000 people, supported by a broad network of satellite activities. The Taranto plant, the only integrated-cycle site in Italy, features extensive infrastructure, including 200 km of railroads, 50 km of roads, and 90 km of conveyor belts for raw material handling. Specializing in flat carbon steel production, the company has an annual crude steel production capacity exceeding 6 million tons. To ensure compliance with sustainability objectives, the Taranto plant undergoes over 1,000 environmental samplings every year. Since 2021, Acciaierie d’Italia has operated a Research and Development (R&D) Centre, one of the most advanced in Europe, equipped with 38 cutting-edge methodologies. This centre plays a pivotal role in driving the company toward a greener, more sustainable production approach, fostering innovation and continuous product improvement.
