ENERGIRON® is the innovative Direct Reduction technology, jointly developed by Danieli and Tenova-Hyl, designed to use different types of reducing gases sources or pure H2 to reduce Iron Ores into Metallic Iron for its use in melting facilities for producing a wide set of high quality steels and represents the most advanced state of the art in DR plants design, operation, environmental friendliness and economy.

Role in the project

Danieli supports the following research:

  • Definition of Reaction Conditions for the reduction and reoxidation processes.
  • Support in Modelling Activities related to the project.
  • Support in Test Assembly and Results Discussions
  • Support in Reuse of Fines generated during the H-DRI production and handling processes.
  • Support on assessment of passivation methods for H-DRI.

Team

Marco Lapasin is the technical responsible of the BU that develops the Direct Reduction Plants with Energiron® technology.

Daniela Dalle Nogare has been engaged in modelling the direct reduction process for over 15 years.
